The full UFC Fight Night 55 lineup now includes:

MAIN CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 10 p.m. ET)

Luke Rockhold vs. Michael Bisping
Al Iaquinta vs. Ross Pearson
Clint Hester vs. Robert Whittaker
Walt Harris vs. Soa Palelei

PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 7:45 p.m. ET)

Jake Matthews vs. Vagner Rocha
Guto Inocente vs. Anthony Perosh
Sam Alvey vs. Dylan Andrews
Neil Seery vs. Richie Vaculik
Chris Clements vs. Vik Grujic
Daniel Kelly vs. Luke Zachrich
Marcus Brimage vs. Jumabieke Tuerxun

do you guys think that cards like this are the wave of the future for ufc fight pass? to me this is a joke. with the size of the ufc roster and people paying a monthly fee there should be more meaningful fights on each card

I think every thing about fight pass is ridiculous. If it were structured more like the WWE channel (or at least to my understanding how said channel works) I think it would be fine. But you can not be charging people this much for what is being offered IMO

UFC - 7.99-8.99-9.99 per month options depending on how long you would like to pay upfront, you get these subpar cards
WWE - 9.99 per month, but All PPV Events included

I used to have a problem with Fight Pass because I thought it was just another money grubbing scheme.
Well as it turns out, that's exactly what it is, but it's not my money the UFC is trying to take with Fight Pass, at least not forcibly.

Dana himself even admits that the Fight Pass cards are geared toward showcasing the local talent of whichever region in which the card is taking place, and not much more than that. So if a fan such as myself wants to fork over the $10/month to watch all of these crappy cards, go for it. But I'm not the target audience for this card, the fans in that region are.
Fight Pass is more like an option for me if I so choose utilize it, not a hostage the UFC is holding to force me to pay up.
That's the way I look at it, anyway. I don't need Fight Pass, and Fight Pass doesn't need me.

I really want to watch this fight card just like i really wanted to watch Bisping/le fight. But if i get fight pass the only place i will be able to watch it is on my laptop. if i could watch fight pass on some thing i could activate on my tv through my cable box i would probably not mind paying either. but there is no way i will pay $10 a month to stream fights on a 12in screen. just not worth it to me. I know you can do it on lg smart tv's and i do have one but i tried streaming other things on it and i was far from impressed with the quality.

gecko i dont think your boy is winning this one... have a feeling rockhold is going to bring it to him hard...

if ufc did a $10 bucks a month fight pass with everything included it would be well worth it.

I didnt know WWE did that

I will admit i see why Bisping is the underdog. but i still give him a fair chance in this fight. he looked a lot more like the old bisping in his fight with le than when he faced kennedy. By that i mean he was more aggressive, let his hands fly a lot more and didnt seem so timid about getting punched(which i still think he was a little worried about his eye injury) That being said I still think Bisping has the better stand up with rockhold having more punching power. i'm not even remotely worried about Rockholds ground game. bisping has fought much more dangerous ground fighters and still has yet to be submitted in over 30 fights. I wouldnt be surprised if Bisping did pull off an upset. I like his chances here more than with Vitor.

beautifully put. I cant argue anything you said.. but i do think there is a big difference between caliber of fighters in rockhold and le. speed, size, and angles mostly. should be an exciting fight. I also question rockholds gas tank against bisping. if bisping is working his feet it might take its toll on rockhold.

Actually imo that card is too good for fight pass. Bisping vs Rockhold should be the 3rd fight on a good PPV imo.

Get back to stacking PPV's, have the fight nights for number one contenders fights, and the fight pass stuff should be for up and comers and local talent.

Exactly.
At first I was all for having more cards (ie... why should I complain about more cards?).
However, I had thoguht that the free cards would all be lesser knowns and the PPVs would be stacked with title fights and #1 contender fights.

The #2 fights on today's PPVs would probably be the last fight on the preliminary cards 6 years ago.

i agree with you for the most part fist but when you are paying a monthly fee for a product it should have some flare to it in my opinion. maybe not guys like bisping and rockhold but guys who maybe have dropped 2 consecutive fights, a promising name who didnt live up to the hype, gate keepers, an aging fighter on his way out, TUF fighters, and up and comers with the local talent. the ufc has a huge roster and a lot of these guys arent active so they should have different sources to watch fights but i feel guys need to be more active. Also why not cut some of the roster and send it to Bellator and let coker do his thing there. Im sure Coker and dana have a pretty decent relationship and everyone knows that bellator is the place most fighters will go once away from UFC.

I probably woudn't pay $2/month on pure principle.
If I have to watch a fight on my computer, there are enough ways to stream shit for free or view videos later.

and it seems that the ufc spends more time fighting people who are streaming events rather than putting on quality events for the dedicated fans... streaming is the internet version of drugs in the usa. you could do all you want to shut it down but it will never happen. deal with it and move on.

The thing is, when it was 50 bucks to watch 5 kickass fights live on a 60" HD Screen, it was totally worth it. Especially if I could invite some people over and make a thing over it.

Now it's all changed.
1. Fight cards are extremely watered down.
2. You get your ONE big fight you are excited to watch and then you end up paying 60 bucks to watch two people exchange jabs or dry hump eachother for 25 minutes.
3. Every single person I used to watch fights with when I first moved to Texas are no longer interested in watching MMA.

Yup, same here in MN. We at one time had a group of anywhere from 5-9 people who would get together and we would all pitch in $5-$10 let the good times ensue.
Not any more. Maybe two others in said group still watch and it's not even very often.

I thought the Fight Pass was supposed to be like the WWE channel, where you were paying for the library of fights. Meaning, you could go on and watch any fight ever in the history of UFC or Pride, which is cool to me. I think these cards they are putting on now are an attempt to get more subscribers.

In either case I dont know exactly how they should breakdown what fights go on what kind of event, but I do know I much preferred the old stacked PPV style and a Bisping/Rockhold fight should be on a PPV imo as a 3rd fight or so.

i cant recall the last stacked ppv event the ufc put on. maybe ufc 100? i think the way they amp up these new feuds between fighters kind of softens the deal for me. guys bickering on twitter, staged attacks on tv, making shirts degrading fighters, media event scuffles,, etc its all bull shit. feuds use to be built in the ring/cage. there were wars that were fought and the only reason there was a rematch was because it was a true battle between two elite fighters who left everything they had inside of them in the ring. i cant recall a single moment of WWE style drama from the olden days of MMA and there were excellent fights that the fans were dying to see and even the casual fan would be entertained or horrified by the results of these fights. I personally am not a fan of fans calling for fights, promoters calling for fights i personally think fighters should fight their own fights and make it as exciting as possible for the fans while keeping your skill and technique established in the cage. enough with all this bullshit to promote fights on fightpass, twitter, and all this other nonsense of this guy is the next king of the world and garbage filling our heads. go back to the basics and let these guys fight for the fans, fight hungry, fight like warriors and bring back that old element of mma that made it so great. sorry for the rant but this water downed wwe style mma is growing old and i personally feel like something needs to change.. however i still support the Martial Arts as i have since i was a child and i always will just would like to see something change. sincerely WAAAAAAAAAh WAAAAAAAAH

I remember there was a decent little streak. Somewhere around 168, 171, 172, 173 there were cards with at least 3 decent fights on them, but man it's been a while for something I would consider stacked.

Like 2-3 years ago we would be disappointed if the second fight of the night was anything less than a Bisping vs Rockhold type of fight.

Not to mention the cost of a PPV has doubled in the last 5-6 years.
I have a feeling the target demographic for the sport is very young (maybe 16-24?). I'm in my mid 30s now and I don't ever come accross anyone who is a fan.
When I was in my 20s it was pretty easy to find a group of 10 guys to come over drink some beer and watch MMA. Now nobody is interested.

I keep hearing how the sport has grown so much, but I don't see it (at all). It must all be in that young demographic of people who are probably lower income, but have more disposable income since they are not supporting families or have major expenses like a mortgage or daycare.

For me the whole fight pass thing is something I will NEVER access. I really want to see the Count fight a non-PED fighter (and kick his ass) but I'm not willing to pay even an extra dime for the fight.
The whole system is bent on sucking so much money from the fan that I really believe the UFC is going in the wrong direction and over time will wear away at the fan base that made it what it is.

Really how much more money do Dana and the boys want? Once the fan base erodes its going to be a hard slog getting viewers back and new fans will be hard to find.
